Join Underground Lovers to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their critically acclaimed album ‘Dream it Down’.
The band’s set will include a wide selection of songs from their 1994 breakthrough release including Triple J Hottest 100 favourite ‘Losin’ it’, the anthemic ‘Las Vegas’ and the cinematic ‘Beautiful World’. The band will also highlight other key tracks from their extensive back catalogue.
The show will feature the original, dynamic line up from the early 90’s - Richard Andrew, Philippa Nihill, Maurice Argiro, Glenn Bennie, and Vincent Giarrusso. They will also be joined by long-time member Emma Bortignon, who first played with the band in 1999. Underground Lovers are also excited to welcome special guest instrumentalists Zoe Barrie and Amanda Brown (Go-Betweens) to join them for the shows.
To help celebrate 30 years of ‘Dream it Down’, Universal Music Group have released a gate fold, double white vinyl edition of the record which is available online and in all good record stores.
‘Dream it Down’ was voted Australian album of the year in 1994 by Triple J’s Richard Kingsmill. Co-produced in part with legendary Sydney producer Wayne Connolly and Melbourne Electronic Art-Rock and Remix specialists David Chesworth and Robert Goodge, the record was a unique blend of acoustic/electro pop that set Underground Lovers apart from the traditional Australian rock acts of the 90’s.
The band toured extensively to promote the album throughout 1994 and 1995 and are excited to be back playing the songs 30 years on, and in some of the same venues.
Underground Lovers have maintained a dedicated following on the east coast of Australia and their live shows are as hypnotic and intense as they were back in the 90’s.
For those who have not seen them in recent years, you are in for a treat.
Underground Lovers are thrilled to be joined at all shows by the widely heralded, Sydney-based chart toppers, YOUTH GROUP.
